Colin Ryan previews tough Free State Stars test

Colin Ryan is confident that Cape Town Spurs can finally get their 2021/22 GladAfrica Championship season up and running this weekend.

The Urban Warriors have made a slow start to the season and are yet to register a win after five games, following a 1-1 draw at home to Hungry Lions in midweek.

Next up for Dylan Deane’s troops is a match away to a Free State Stars side who sit in second spot on the GladAfrica Championship standings heading into matchday six. Kick-off on Saturday is set for 15h00 CAT.

“Tough task, but if we continue to put in the same performances that we have so far this season we will definitely get the results that we want,” said Ryan in the build-up to the fixture away to Ea Lla Koto.

“The conditions in Bethlehem will favour Free State Stars, but I am confident that we will get the result we need. We are getting in the correct positions, we just need that finishing touch.

“I don’t think we are missing anything, the club has been great. It is just now about what happens inbetween the lines – it is up to the players, up to us to get the results,” he added.

Ryan reserved special for the club’s supporters and ensured the Spurs faithful that results will soon follow.

“To the supporters I’d like to say thank you for supporting us, you are always there for us. Please keep on supporting us, the results will come. I love you all,” the Spurs midfielder concluded.
