Spurs claim valuable point in Bethlehem
Cape Town Spurs will return to the Mother City having claimed a valuable point away to Free State Stars on Saturday.
The Urban Warriors were made to work hard in a hotly contested 0-0 draw at Goble Park.
Ea Lla Koto had the better of the chances while Spurs’ best opportunity fell to the in-form Colin Ryan in the 64th minute. His fizzing effort flew inches wide of the Stars goal.
Stars pushed forward in the closing stages of the match in search of a late winner with Moeketsi Sekola a constant threat, but in the end both teams were made to settle for a point apiece.
Next up for Spurs is a home match against Black Leopards at Parow Park next Sunday, 03 October.
Starting XI: Vyver; Amutenya, Butsaka, Dortley (Tshaya 75′), Sibande, Moroole, Abednigo (Cupido 86′), Mfecane, Ryan, Losper, Bunga (De Oliveira 90′).
