NEDBANK CUP: ’The players are getting comfortable with each other’

Speaking ahead of Cape Town Spurs’ Nedbank Cup tie against the University of Pretoria on Friday, coach Shaun Bartlett has said that the Urban Warriors are beginning to grow as a unit as they look to tackle a tough January fixture list.

The Urban Warriors will face familiar foes in the form of AmaTuks on Friday, as they get their Nedbank Cup journey underway.

Bartlett mentioned that the club will now eye a spot in the Round of 32, while also preparing to take on an eventful January fixture list that consists of five league games.

“We looking forward to restart our season after a very long break obviously due to the World Cup,”  Bartlett said.

“Starting with a cup game against AmaTuks on Friday, we looking forward to that and our mission is to make sure we can get into the main competition of the last 32 and to continue where we left off

“We had a good run before the break, I think the players are getting a little bit more comfortable with each other as far as knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses

“We’ve got a tight schedule in January, five league games, one away and it’s going to be important for us to make sure every home game we capitalise and get maximum points in order to put us in a good position.”
