Bartlett eyes Nedbank Cup Last 8
Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett has reiterated the need to maintain a positive momentum as the Urban Warriors gear up to face Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 on Friday evening.
Spurs will now shift their attention to the Nedbank Cup this week, with the DStv Premiership side being one of the club’s toughest tasks in the 2022/23 campaign to date.
Unbeaten in the last 10 matches across the board, Bartlett highlighted the importance of a good squad morale in the next couple of fixtures.
“After a long week on the road we are back home for a couple of days preparing for our Nedbank Last 16 game against Sekhukhune United,” Bartlett said.
“It’s a welcoming break from the league but we are fully focused on this Friday’s game and we’ll put out a very strong squad to ensure we get to the Last 8, which will obviously be another achievement for us and hopefully carry on the momentum.
“I think it’s important we keep the confidence high and the morale good going into two league games the following week.
“Everybody is fit and ready to go and we are looking forward to the game. Hopefully it does our families, the club and the fans proud by putting in a good performance.”
