Urban Warriors suffer defeat against City
Cape Town City recorded a 2-1 win over Cape Town Spurs at the DHL Stadium in the first installment of the iKapa Derby of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
The Urban Warriors got the game off on a positive note, with Ashley Cupido rounding off a swift counter-attacking move in the third minute of the match.
While Spurs created numerous chances throughout the tie, City levelled matters courtesy of a 43rd minute penalty by Darwin Gonzalez.
Nevertheless, a Khanyiso Mayo brace saw the Citizens bag three points in the fiercely contested encounter.
