New striker wants to make an impact!
“I want to make an impact,” those were the words of Cape Town Spurs FC new signing Termaine Eastmond.
The 20-year-old has officially signed for the Urban Warriors and wants to hit the ground running.
“My goal is to be a consistent starter for the team and to score goals,” said Eastmond. “I want to contribute to the success of the club.”
The English-born youngster is a product of the Burnley FC Academy and has noted some major differences between football in the UK and South Africa.
“The football here (in SA) is a lot more physical,” he added. “It is very intense for long periods of time. The are also a lot bigger and stronger here.”
The signing of Eastmond is one of the first pieces of business conducted by the club’s new Technical Director Sean Connor, who is more than happy to have him onboard.
“It wasn’t an easy deal to get over the line, but delighted Termain is here,” said Connor. “I am confident that over a short period of time, he will make an impact.
“He comes from a good background; he is a good technical player and understands the game.”
Spurs next DStv Premiership match is scheduled for Saturday, 28 October against Stellenbosch where Eastmond could very well make his debut.
