The veteran midfielder began his career at Ajax Cape Town (Cape Town Spurs) in 2006 when he was promoted to the first team.
Claasen became a nomadic player after leaving the Urban Warriors for Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam in 2008 as he went on to ply his trade in Belgium Poland and Germany.
The former Bafana Bafana international rejoined Spurs in July 2024 after a spell in Egypt with Wadi Degla having also turned out for Bidvest Wits and Maritzburg United in the PSL Premiership.
