Spurs Fall at Hanover Park

Cape Town Spurs suffered their first loss of the ABC Motsepe League Western Cape Stream A campaign on Friday night.

Coach Roger De Sa’s side went down 3-0 to Hanover Park FC at the Downberg Road Sports Complex, ending a run of three straight draws.

The Urban Warriors, still finding their feet under De Sa after a 2-2 at Seaside Spurs, a 1-1 with Saxon Rovers and a 1-1 at Hout Bay United, left empty-handed against the league leaders.

Spurs sit ninth with three points from four matches and a 4-7 goal difference, while Hanover Park sit top on 10 points.

It was a stern examination against an unbeaten side that have now scored 13 goals and conceded only two this season.

De Sa will want a sharper start and a first win of the campaign when Spurs return to familiar surroundings.

Next up is a first chance to respond at home as Spurs host Ubuntu FC at Ikamva on Saturday, 10 October, at 16:00.
