3 Players to watch out for this season
With a number of exciting players to look out for this season, whether it be young or that of the experienced, here are three players to keep an eye on this season.
Therlo Moosa
The striker joined the Urban Warriors with quite a reputation with scoring goals being foremost in his mind. Since joining the club, Moosa has grown into his role and continues to be an integral part of coach Shaun Bartlett’s plans.
Moosa signed for the club ahead of the 2022/23 season, having plied his trade for ABC Motsepe outfit, Glendene United. Upon joining the club, Moosa reiterated that he is a hard working forward who is constantly looking to score goals.
As an interesting fact, Moosa scored 19 goals last season, a rare feat in South African football these days. In the Urban Warriors Mostepe Foundation Championship 2-1 win over Magesi saw Moosa put his body on the line, as he suffered a heavy blow to his head in a
Coming together with the opposite goalkeeper. In getting the goal, Moosa will no doubt look to lead the line with leadership and responsibility.
Liam Bern
Bern has been one of the club’s most consistent performers over the last couple seasons. This time around, Bern has once again gotten the nod of approach by coach Bartlett and has been a consistent starter for Spurs this season.
Ahead of the season Bern underwent a two week trail in Europe where he was hosted by Belgium club FC Mechelen and has been in high spirits since then.
With the ability to be effective on both ends of the pitch, Bern is a well-balanced defender and will no doubt be an asset to the club going forward.
Clayton Daniels
Now at the age of 38, Daniels returns home as one of the senior members of a young Spurs outfit. Having been a regular this season, Daniels has much to offer to the team on and off the pitch. ‘Hare’, as he fondly known, has been around the block in South African football, shining for teams such as SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic.
His wealth of experience is an asset to the squad, especially with the mandate of seeking to acquire automatic promotion.
