Spurs Fight Back to Share Spoils in Season Opener

Cape Town Spurs opened their ABC Motsepe League campaign with a 2-2 draw away to Seaside Spurs at the Ocean View Sports Complex.

The visitors had to fight back after falling behind on the road in Ocean View. Seaside looked the more dangerous side early on and took the lead before Spurs began to settle into the contest.

The Urban Warriors, under veteran coach Roger De Sa, then found a way back into the match and forced the equaliser to make it 2-2.

Both sides shared the points after a competitive first outing of the season.

For Urban Warriors, the result offered a mixed start but showed they can recover when they go behind.

They will now look to turn that character into a first win when they host Saxon Rovers on Saturday, 19 September at 16:00.
