Spurs leave it late against Tuks
Cape Town Spurs progressed into the Round of 32 of the Nedbank Cup, following a narrow 1-0 win over the University of Pretoria at the Athlone Stadium on Friday afternoon.
There was little to separate the two sides during the 90 minutes, with the heat and windy conditions making it difficult for either side to settle on the ball.
With the game heading into extra-time, Spurs searched for an opener and continued to do so against a stubborn Tuks defence.
Second-half substitute Boitumelo Radiopane made his presence known after being summoned from the bench and managed to get his name on the scoresheet deep into extra-time.
That said, Radiopane’s effort was enough for Spurs to book their spot in the Round of 32 of the coveted Nedbank Cup.
