Bartlett reacts to Nedbank Cup victory

Cape Town Spurs head coach Shaun Bartlett has expressed his delight at making the main draw in the Nedbank Cup, following their 1-0 win over the University of Pretoria at the Athlone Stadium.

The Urban Warriors were drawn against familiar foes in the Nedbank Cup qualifying round as they welcomed AmaTuks to the Mother City last week Friday.

In what was a tight affair, it took an extra-time effort from Boitumelo Radiopane to separate the two teams as the on-loan Orlando Pirates starlet opened his account for the club.

Reacting to the result, Bartlett mentioned that his side have been waiting patiently for the encounter and that as a collection, Spurs are happy to be among the big guns in the Round of 32.

“Im extremely happy with the result against AmaTuks in our Nedbank Cup qualifier,” Bartlett said.

“We were anxiously waiting for this game after the long break we had during the World Cup and waiting to restart our season.

“I think for us as a club it’s great to be in the main draw for the Nedbank Cup and we are looking forward to that.”
