Spirited Spurs suffer defeat in Soweto
Despite a valiant effort from the lads against tough opposition, the Urban Warriors suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat against Kaizer Chiefs in their latest DStv Premiership encounter on Wednesday night.
Spurred on by a morale boosting win over Orlando Pirates last week, the Urban Warriors gave a good account of themselves against a star-studded Chiefs outfit.
Edson Castillo and Ranga Chivaviro gave Chiefs a 2-0 lead up until the 25th minute, while Luvuyo Phewa pulled one back moments before the half-time whistle. Christian Saile got his name on the scoresheet in the 82nd minute, as Chiefs extended their lead late on.
Nevertheless, in what was a silver lining moment at the end of the game, 17-year-old Luke Baartman managed to score his debut goal for the club in the 90th minute.
