Spurs shine in SAFA squad selection

Cape Town Spurs have made a powerful statement by having six players selected for the 20-man SAFA Cape Town Under-18 Engen Team for the 2026 Engen Knockout Challenge.

Tyrese Heynes, Thurston Johnson, Aqeel Hess, Torique Abdol, Daunte Jones, and Zaheer Adriaanse were all chosen from the club, showcasing the incredible depth of talent in the Spurs youth system.

This strong representation underscores Spurs’ commitment to youth development and their status as one of the region’s top producers of young footballers.  

The selected Spurs players will now join the SAFA Cape Town Academy squad as they prepare to compete in one of South Africa’s premier youth knockout tournaments.  

With several Spurs stars in the squad, expectations are high for the team to perform well and potentially challenge for honours in 2026.
