Urban Warriors trio selected for London International Tournament

The Ajax Cape Town trio of Dean Solomons, Leo Thethani and Tashreeq Matthews have received international call-ups for upcoming international friendlies against the Brazil U18 and England U18 national teams.

South Africa are set to face Brazil and England in upcoming friendly matches on the 30th of August and 4th of September respectively, with Thabo Senong’s troops set to jet off to Heathrow International Airport in London this weekend.

The matches will form part of Brazil and England’s preparations for the upcoming FIFA U17 World Cup, set to take place in India later this year.

Solomons, Thethani and Matthews have impressed for the Urban Warriors youth teams over the past few seasons, including starring performances for the club’s Multi Choice Diski Challenge, ABC Motsepe and Young Ajax teams.

Thethani notable graduated into the club’s First Team ahead of the 2017-18 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.

The trio also caught the eye while on tour in the Netherlands earlier this year, forming part of a Young Ajax team that beat both Manchester United and Real Madrid.
