Preview: Spurs welcome Jomo Cosmos

Cape Town Spurs will be aiming to register their first win of the 2020-21 GladAfrica Championship season when they host Jomo Cosmos at Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Kick-off is at 3:30pm CAT.

The Urban Warriors have conjured two points from two matches this season. A 1-1 draw at home to Polokwane City was followed by a 0-0 stalemate away to Royal AM at Chatsworth Stadium last week.

Spurs head coach Vladislav Heric has predicted a tough challenge for his troops versus a Ezenkosi side that held Sekhukhune United to a 2-2 draw in their opening match of the campaign.

“Cosmos is traditionally a very tough opponent,” said Heric. “They will be ready, organised, but I believe that if we play like we did in the first two matches, I am positive, we will get the result we want at home.”

Spurs will continue to be without last season’s top goal scorer Abednigo Mosiatlhaga who could make a return from injury later this month. Riyaad Norodien, though, could be involved after he missed the club’s trip to KwaZulu-Natal due to personal reasons.

Victory would move the Urban Warriors up to third place on the league standings and four points behind Cape Umoya United and University of Pretoria who both boast a perfect record of three wins from their allotted matches.
