Lincoln Vyver named in Cosafa Cup squad

Cape Town Spurs goalkeeper Lincoln Vyver will represent South Africa at the 2021 COSAFA Cup tournament, starting today in the Eastern Cape province.

Vyver, 20, enjoyed a breakthrough season, winning the man-of-the-match award on his competitive debut in February.

The shot-stopper saved two penalties in victory over Baroka FC in the Nedbank Cup and followed that up with another man-of-the-match performance eight days later, in a 1-0 win at Pretoria Callies in the GladAfrica Championship.

Bafana Bafana get their campaign underway against neighbours Botswana on Tuesday afternoon at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Kick-off is at 17h00 CAT.
