‘We are going all guns blazing’
Now back at home, coach Shaun Bartlett has highlighted the importance of setting the tone for the rest of the season in Cape Town Spurs’ Motsepe Foundation Championship clash against JDR Stars on Sunday.
Following three consecutive away games in the league, the Urban Warriors have returned to the Mother City, where they will face JDR Stars at the Athlone Stadium.
While Bartlett praised his side’s fighting spirit early on in the campaign, Bartlett mentioned that making the home stadium a fortress will be key in pushing for automatic promotion.
“Going into our first home game of the season this coming Sunday against JDR, its going to be massive one for us as a club,” Bartlett said.
“Having played our last three games away from home and the last result not going in our favour against Tuks
“Its only about redeeming ourselves but also setting the tone for this upcoming season with our first home game
“We’ve told the players we want to compete, we want to win this championship this season, we need to make sure our home stadium becomes a fortress.
“This weekend, we are definitely going all guns blazing, making sure everyone understands the magnitude of this game in order to get three points and to put the Tuks disappointment behind us.”
