Bartlett: We’ve had a great two weeks
With the clash against Platinum City Rovers on the horizon, coach Shaun Bartlett reflected on the team’s preparations for the tie and has also provided an important injury update.
Spurs will travel to the Olen Park Stadium on Monday, where they will meet Platinum City Rovers in the latest round of Motsepe Foundation Championship fixtures.
The international break provided Bartlett and his troops a two week preparation period, where the club took part in a couple of practice matches to keep fit. That said, Bartlett reiterated the need to make the right applications in the game against Platinum City Rovers.
“We’ve had a two week period (because of the International break) to prepare for this game,” Bartlett said.
“Very disappointing in our last game out losing to JDR at home, obviously losing a game like that, it hurts more. Especially when it’s at home and the way we lost the game.
“So, having lost the last two games, we have a very difficult task to go to Platinum City Rovers who haven’t received any points at this moment in time.
“We have to go there with the full intention of grabbing the win, we know it’s not going to be easy but just have to apply ourselves in the right way and convert more of the chances.
“We create a lot but we don’t convert enough. We’ve seen with the Tuks game, with the JDR game, we do not convert our chances. Defensively we also need to tighten up a little bit more.”
“We’ve had a great two weeks, played some practice matches, some of our injured players are back as well like Boitumelo Radiopane, so hopefully he can also come in and make an impact. It would be nice to see him on the field for a change.”
