Moroole’s special goal dedication
In opening his 2022/23 Motsepe Foundation Championship account recently, midfielder Jarrod Moroole explained who he dedicated his effort to as Cape Town Spurs march on in their promotion pursuit.
After recording two wins on the trot, the Urban Warriors moved up to 4th spot in the league and are now three points behind Polokwane City who lead the way at the top.
Spurs are currently off the back of a 2-0 victory against Uthongathi, while Shaun Bartlett’s troops recorded a 1-0 win over Magesi in the previous encounter.
Moroole, who opened his account for the season against Magesi, dedicated his goal to Colin Ryan who celebrated his birthday recently.
“We kept our calm, we worked as a team, we kept our shape. Defensively, we did well by keeping a clean sheet which is also a good thing,” Moroole said.
“In scoring the winner, it was kind of special
“It was my first goal of the season and there’s more coming.
“Also, another special goal towards Collin [Ryan], it was his birthday and him assisting the goal also made it special.”
