Shaun Bartlett, head coach of Cape Town Spurs

Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett extracted the positives from the club’s 0-0 draw against Polokwane City in the Motsepe Foundation Championship recently and he praised his side’s character in what was a high profile fixture.

The Urban Warriors traveled to the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium last week, where they met Rise and Shine who occupied first position on the log at the time.

In gaining a point amid tough conditions, Bartlett lauded his team’s effort on the road as the club remained on course for a promotional finish on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table.

“We got an incredible draw against a high flying Polokwane City,” Bartlett said.

“Its not easy to go to Polokwane and get a result but we fought really hard to get at least one point.

“I think the game was fairly balanced, it probably could have gone either way.

“I think our players showed character in the second half to ensure that we come home with at least one point and keep the momentum going.”
