Bartlett on being in the driver’s seat

Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett has reiterated the need to get back into the driver’s seat toward the end of the 2022/23 Motsepe Foundation Champion campaign.

Coming off a morale boosting 2-0 win over fellow promotion chasing Casric Stars last week, Bartlett mentioned that scoring more and conceding less could prove vital come the end of the season.

With Spurs, Casric Stars and Polokwane all in the running for the top spot, Bartlett stressed the importance of closing the league season on a high.

“We’ve got four games to go, we’ve got to put ourselves in the driving seat and control what’s in our hands.

“It’s a three way tie, the clean sheet becomes important with the goal difference.

“We’ve got to score more goals and we got to make sure we don’t concede any because that might be the extra point we need come the end of the season.”
