One step away from PSL promotion
With automatic promotion to the PSL being the mandate from day one, Cape Town Spurs will host the University of Pretoria in their final Motsepe Foundation Championship clash of the 2022/23 campaign.
In what will be the most important fixture of the current season, coach Shaun Bartlett and company are just one win away from being in South Africa’s top flight.
With Athlone Stadium being a fortress for Spurs this season, the club has urged supporters to come out in their numbers to support the Urban Warriors this Sunday. (Tickets available on Webticket)
As it stands, AmaTuks are currently 9th on the table, with 39 points to their name after 29 games played. The Urban Warriors sit at the summit of the table, one point ahead of Casric Stars who are in 2nd place and two points adrift of Polokwane City who occupy 3rd spot.
Spurs were 1-0 winners in the most recent outing against AmaTuks, which took place in the Nedbank Cup back in January. However, the University of Pretoria claimed a 3-2 win over Spurs in the first league meeting between the two sides in September last year.
