Bartlett shifts attention to Maritzburg tie

With Cape Town Spurs hosting Maritzburg United in the latest PSL Promotion play-off tie, coach Shaun Bartlett emphasised the importance of making home ground advantage count this weekend.

The Urban Warriors are back at Athlone Stadium on Saturday in what will be yet another crucial fixture in the PSL Promotion play-offs.

Speaking ahead of the tie, Bartlett understands that while Maritzburg are a PSL team, the Urban Warriors will not back down from a challenge.

“We started the play off campaign with a good away win against Casric Stars,” Bartlett said.

“That will reinstall a little bit of confidence after the disappointment of the last day of the season.

“Coming now to the next two home games first one on sat against Martizburg, I think it will be a direct shootout.

“Both of us are on three points, we expect a tough game. It’s a PSL team so we give them the respect but we don’t fear anyone. Hopefully on Saturday our crowd will turn out as they done all season to come and support us.

“We put a lot of emphases on home games in order to succeed like we’ve done throughout the season

“If we come with the right attitude, energy and make them as Martizburg aware that it’s our home field, we will not just be turned over, we will fight until the end.”
