Apology to Referee Mr Cedric Muvhali
Cape Town Spurs Football Club, Mr Alexi Efstathiou, Mr Nassif Morris, and Rayno Rayepen would like to apologise to Mr Cedric Muvhali (“Mr Muvhali”) for an incident that happened after our last match of the season against University of Pretoria.
Mr Efstathiou expressed his regret for the incident and stated that “my utterances were unacceptable and your ability to forgive me in the spirit of the sport we both serve in, will go a long way in lifting up my spirits knowing that you have done so.”
Mr Rayepen stated that “I would like to humbly apologize to Mr Muvhali for my emotional behaviour on 14 May 2023. In hindsight, it was a result of frustration over the last 5 years of wanting to gain promotion and disappointment with the result of the match. It was uncalled for and I hope Mr Muvhali will forgive me”
“I would like to sincerely apologise for my words towards Mr Muvhali. We worked so hard this season after fighting relegation for the last 2 seasons and I was disappointed that we did not get the result we needed in that game to secure the title and in the heat of the moment felt like Mr Muvhali had not treated us fairly. However, upon reflection, I realised that I was wrong. It was a moment of weakness, and I am really sorry for my actions,” said Mr Morris.
