Spurs target “clean” result for Chippa clash

Cape Town Spurs head coach Ernst Middendorp is backing the team to improve in their next DStv Premiership outing against Chippa United on Wednesday evening at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Kick-off is at 19:30 CAT.

Following a disappointing last minute loss to Moroka Swallows in their previous league match over the weekend, the mandate for the Urban Warriors remains clear — collecting as many points as possible is the mission.

The remaining fixtures are crucial for the team in their quest to avoid relegation. Middendorp however, is pleased that the team has grabbed eight points out of a possible 12.

Chippa United is two places above Spurs on the log and are trying to avoid dipping lower in the league standings. Ahead of the game, Middendorp says the teams are in similar situations but the team’s focus is on their own performance.

“I’m afraid that we probably have similar situations, but we need to be focused of course to ourselves and do the right stuff. Be more professional, be more experienced in certain moments,” he said.
