Rushwin Dortley bids farewell to Urban Warriors

Rushwin Dortley has taken the time to thank Cape Town Spurs for his time at the club following his transfer to Kaizer Chiefs on a five-year deal.

The 22-year-old was a highly sought-after transfer target in this window, and has decided to join the Soweto club after spending seven years with the Urban Warriors.

The defender made 27 appearances across all competitions for the club in the 2023/24 season.

“Firstly, I want to say thank you to the owners for giving me the opportunity seven years ago and it has been a good seven years,” said Dortley.

“I wanna thank all the junior coaches whose been part of my development. I also wanna say thank you to the coach [Ernst Middendorp] for pushing me and believing that I can do better.”

“Even though I got frustrated sometime but I always understood the reason why.”

“And I just wanna say thank you to my teammates. Those who is not here anymore. The ones all here.”

“Thank you for pushing me and always being there, not always as a teammate, but as a brother as well. Just wanna say thank you to everyone and thank you to the club.”
