Urban Warriors CEO makes powerful statement

Following the sale of Rushwin Dortley to Kaizer Chiefs, Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou says that the club will not be selling their players for a low transfer fee.

Efstathiou has made it clear that the club will only be letting a player go if the fee is deemed considerable, and that’s because it takes a large investment for their development.

“We are unapologetic in saying that we will not allow our players to leave for nothing. So many resources go into developing a player, and we do all that out of our pockets without assistance from SAFA or anyone else,” he said as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

A number of Spurs players are targets in this transfer window, because despite being relegated from the top-flight, the team showed determination and the players impressed in the campaign.

In a turn of events, the Urban Warriors decided to keep coach Ernst Middendorp on board to continue the project and are hoping that he can guide them back to the top.
