Middendorp remains on at Cape Town Spurs

Cape Town Spurs have had a challenging start to the season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, leading to speculation regarding Ernst Middendorp’s future at the club.

Middendorp joined Spurs in the middle of last season, and was tasked with keeping the team in the top-flight. 

The Urban Warriors came close to retaining their status, however the poor run of form before the German tactician took over was too damaging to recover.

The club’s management has spoken out about the rumours regarding the head coach, and have reaffirmed their commitment to him staying at the helm.

Ari Efstathiou, the club’s chairman is said to have believed that Middendorp could change the course of events.

“We were told that management believes in the coach and his vision,” a source stated. 

“We are also confident that the coach will guide us to better results.”
