Urban Warriors lose out against Callies

Cape Town Spurs were defeated 2-1 by Pretoria Callies in the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the TUT Stadium on Friday afternoon.

The result sees the Urban Warriors lose further ground in the second-tier, remaining in the lower half of the table.

The first goal was scored by Callies in the 22nd minute through Nicholas Motloung and the hosts doubled their lead three minutes later when Sibusiso Khumalo found the back of the net too.

Spurs pulled one back towards the end of the first half, but the scoreline would remain the same even in the second stanza with both teams failing to find another goal.

The Urban Warriors’ next assignment in the MFC will be when they face Casric Stars on 10 January 2025 at the Athlone Stadium.
