Spurs look to extend unbeaten run at Leopards

Cape Town Spurs will be targeting nothing but a win in the Motsepe Foundation Championship when they meet Black Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 15h30.

The Urban Warriors are enjoying a four-match unbeaten run across all competitions having drawn 2-2 with Milford FC at home on 31 January as Khaya Mfecane and Therlo Moosa netted for Spurs.

The Western Cape side are placed 15th in the Motsepe Foundation Championship standings – level on points with 14th-placed Venda FC who are scheduled to travel to the KwaZulu-Natal to face Durban City on Friday.

A victory over Leopards would see coach Ernst Middendorp’s side boost their confidence in their bid to avoid relegation and challenge for promotion.

Meanwhile, Leopards have been inconsistent lately having suffered a 1-0 defeat to Leruma United away on 1 February and it was their second defeat in their last three league matches.

Lidoda Duvha are placed 10th in the Motsepe Foundation Championship standings and the Limpopo-based side are eight points above the relegation zone with 13 matches left in the current campaign.

The last meeting between Spurs and Leopards ended in a 0-0 draw, and the Urban Warriors won 4-1 on penalties in the Nedbank Cup in December 2024.

The Urban Warriors have won three of their last four competitive matches against Lidoda Duvha who emerged victorious in the other game.
