Jakalashe shows his class as Spurs make perfect start
Cape Town Spurs got off to the perfect start in the 2025/26 ABC Motsepe League Western Cape Stream A campaign.
The Urban Warriors welcomed Zizwe United to their home, Ikamva, on what was matchday one of the South African third-tier this past weekend.
Zizwe were on the back foot from the first whistle as the hosts pushed for early goals and they got them through Azola Jakalashe, who was in great scoring form.
The 21-year-old forward hit the back of the net twice within the first 10 minutes of the match – beating goalkeeper Lilitha Ntlangane in the second minute and seventh minute.
Zizwe’s hopes of making a comeback were killed off by Eyona Ndondo 20 minutes into the second-half when the attacking midfielder converted a penalty.
Ndondo’s goal sealed Spurs’ emphatic victory over Zizwe and coach Nasief Morris’ charges will be oozing with confidence ahead of their next fixture.
Spurs will be away to Young Bafana in their next league match, which is scheduled to be played at the Young Bafana Arena on Saturday.
