Spurs – The high-scoring team in Regional League

Cape Town Spurs ended the year 2025 as the highest-scoring team in the Hollywoodbets Regional League Western Cape.

The Urban Warriors have remarkably found the back of the net 22 times from just seven matches in the South African four-tier.

The majority of Spurs’ goals came from their incredible 12-2 victory over Goodhope Football Club on November 29. 

Prior to that, the Urban Warriors netted on four occasions in their 4-3 win over Matroosfontein Football Club on November 22.

This was after coach Duncan Crowie’s side had been involved in a high-scoring draw against current log leaders, Saxon Rovers, who have netted 19 goals so far.

The two teams boasting the best attacks in the league played to a 3-3 draw in what was the second game of the season on November 15.

Spurs’ scoring run came to an end in their final match of 2025, which was against Cape Town City on December 14, a game the Citizens won. 

The Urban Warriors will resume their 2025/26 Hollywoodbets Regional League campaign with a match against Young Pirates at Ikamva on January 9.
