Spurs resume Hollywoodbets Regional League campaign

Cape Town Spurs resumed their 2025/26 Hollywoodbets Men’s Regional League campaign with back-to-back matches.

The first match of the year 2026 was played at Ikamva, where Young Pirates claimed a 6-2 victory over the Urban Warriors on January 9.

The hosts’ two goals were netted by promising youngsters, Alistair Frans and Bakhe Sopaqa, as they continue to display their gradual development. 

Frans netted with a header from a corner-kick, before Sopaga hit the back of the net from the spot-kick after Spurs were awarded a penalty.

The Urban Warriors were back in action on January 11 as they took on Wanderers FC at the Nyanga Stadium.

It was a match that saw Wanderers emerge as 1-0 winners as they handed Spurs their second defeat in 2026.

The youthful Spurs side will be looking to return to winning ways on Saturday, January 17, when they take on Silver Spurs. 

The game is scheduled to be played at Ikamva. Kick-off is at 15h00.
