A Five-Goal Thriller In The Battle Of The Spurs

Cape Town Spurs were in action against Silver Spurs in the 2025/26 SAFA Cape Town Hollywoodbets Regional League over the weekend.  

The matchday 10 fixture took place at the Urban Warriors’ state-of-the-art home, Ikamva, where the hosts were targeting nothing but a victory.

There was a minute of silence for former Silver Spurs player Naseem Nino Petersen, before the two teams locked horns.   

The Urban Warriors had a good first-half which saw them hit the back of the net twice and they were leading 2-1 during the half-time break.

However, Silver came back stronger after the restart as they found the back of the net twice to secure a 3-2 victory over the Urban Warriors on the day.

It was another learning experience for Cape Town Spurs’ youthful side that is campaigning in the fourth tier of South African football under the guidance of top youth coach Andrew Herman.

The Urban Warriors will be in action this weekend as they travel to Hanover Park, where they are scheduled to face Premier United at Downsberg Sports Complex on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 15h00.
