Spurs target leap up table against Inter City

Cape Town Spurs are aiming to narrow the gap on ABC Motsepe League Western Cape Stream A leaders HBUFC with a win over Inter City FFC this Saturday.

The Urban Warriors will welcome Inter City to their state-of-the-art home ground, Ikamva, for this matchday 12 encounter, with kick-off scheduled at 14:00.

Spurs head into the fixture full of momentum after a resilient comeback win, securing a 2-1 win over fellow contenders FN Rangers at home last weekend, highlighted by a brace from Sonwabile Mfecane.

Under coach Nasief Morris, the Urban Warriors currently sit in fifth place in Stream A, having collected 18 points from 11 matches.

A victory against Inter City could propel Spurs up to as high as second in the table, depending on results elsewhere, as they trail leaders HBUFC by five points heading into matchday 12.

Inter City, meanwhile, will be eager to bounce back after suffering a 3-1 defeat to HBUFC at the IY Hout Bay Sports Field in their previous outing.

Positioned in 10th spot with 11 points from 11 games, they are focused on building distance from the relegation-threatened bottom three.

This Saturday’s matchup marks the first competitive meeting between Cape Town Spurs and Inter City FFC.
