High-Stakes Encounter: Spurs welcome HBU
Cape Town Spurs will welcome HBU FC to Ikamva on Wednesday in the 2025/26 ABC Motsepe League Western Cape Stream A, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.
The Urban Warriors head into the match in strong form, riding a wave of four consecutive victories — the latest a hard-fought 1-0 win over Vasco da Gama in the Parow Derby.
That result took Spurs to 27 points from 14 matches, keeping them firmly in the promotion race.
Currently occupying fourth place (8 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses, +4 goal difference), Nasief Morris’ side sit just five points behind leaders HBU FC.
A victory on Wednesday could propel Spurs as high as second place, depending on other results this midweek.
HBU FC, meanwhile, strengthened their position at the summit with a 2-1 away victory over Ubuntu FC on March 27.
The visitors arrive with 32 points from 14 matches and will be determined to extend their lead at the top of the table.
This will be the second meeting between the two sides this season.
In the reverse fixture on 21 February at the Hout Bay Sports Complex, HBU won 4-1 against Spurs.
With both teams chasing promotion, Wednesday’s encounter at the state-of-the-art Ikamva facility promises to be a high-stakes affair in Stream A.
