Red-hot Spurs edge HBU for fifth successive victory

In-form Cape Town Spurs clinched a 1-0 victory over title rivals HBU FC in the 2025/26 ABC Motsepe League Western Cape Stream A.

The Urban Warriors claimed all three points in a tense encounter at Ikamva on Wednesday, extending their winning run to five consecutive victories in the third tier.

The result keeps Spurs’ promotion charge firmly on track under coach Nasief Morris. 

The win also lifted the Cape Town giants to third place in Stream A with 30 points from 15 matches.

The Urban Warriors now sit just two points behind leaders HBU FC and one point off second-placed Hanover Park.

Spurs will have the chance to go top of the table next week when they face FNB Rangers at Maitland Sports Ground on Wednesday, 8 April.

Rangers currently occupy fifth position, five points behind Spurs.
