Sedwyn George not resting on his laurels
Ajax Cape Town forward Sedwyn George is not resting on his laurels as he prepares for what will be his maiden season in South Africa’s Absa Premiership.
The former Royal Eagles forward finished the 2016-17 National First Division season with 20 goals, scoring three hat-tricks on his way to claiming the golden boot accolade.
George, though, is quick to acknowledge that he has started a new chapter with the 25-year-old eager on making the desired impact at Ikamva. It has been two weeks since the start of pre-season and the forward has taken well to his new surroundings:
“It is good to be here at Ajax Cape Town, I am really enjoying the environment and the facilities here are the best,” said George.
“Pre-season has but tough but it’s part of the job as I am putting in hard work which will be beneficial in the long run. I am ‘gelling’ well with the guys, enjoying every minute here and it feels like I have been here for a long time.
Having climbed the proverbial ladder on his way to plying his trade in South Africa’s top tier – George knows the value of hard work and determination. He is hopeful that this will stand him in good stead as he sets his sights on yet another memorable campaign.
“Football is a game of pressure, all I need to do is work hard and all the pieces will fall together,” George added. “My goal for the season is to better my performance from last season and win some silverware with the team” he concluded.
