Muhsin Ertugral: The pressure is on

Ajax Cape Town welcome Baroka FC to Athlone Stadium on Tuesday evening in what is a crucial week for the club.

The Urban Warriors need nothing but all three points against a Bakgaga outfit who are winless in their last four Absa Premiership fixtures.

Ajax Cape Town followed a 1-0 win over Bidvest Wits with a 1-1 draw away to Chippa United and with only three league games remaining, the club will need to build on their outstanding home record if they are to climb up the log standings.

Mushin Ertugral’s troops will be aiming to make it four successive home wins before a difficult trip to Atteridgeville this weekend, where the Urban Warriors are set to face league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

“At home we have a pretty good record‚ but it is a pressure situation‚” Ertugral said in build-up to the club’s clash against Baroka.

“It comes down to how we react in extreme pressure. Can we be calm and do the things we have worked on‚ or is that only 50 percent because the pressure kicks in?

“We all know that when pressure comes in we make decisions that even ourselves‚ we don’t understand why we did it.

“These are all the elements we need to look into‚ but we have learnt in the last couple of months to deal with the pressure and handle the pressure.”

Kick-off on Tuesday evening is at 19h30 CAT. Tickets are on sale at Computicket.
