Bartlett previews TTM clash
Cape Town Spurs head coach Shaun Bartlett has highlighted the importance of ending 2021 on a high, with the aim of making a push up the GladAfrica Championship table in the new year.
Spurs host Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila at Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with the match the club’s last before the Christmas break. Kick-off is at 15h30 CAT.
“Following our exit from the Nedbank Cup we will shift our focus back to the league and the last game before the Christmas break,” said Bartlett.
“We’ve had a good run (in the league) over the last few weeks and will be looking to build on that at home on Sunday, and obviously put ourselves in a good position to push on in the new year. And hopefully get the players more mentally prepared for what is to come, it is important that they understand the magnitude of the situation and the position we find ourselves in, and what we are capable of achieving this season.
“For us as a club our success will be gauged on making sure that we get back to the DStv Premiership – where this team belongs,” he added.
The Urban Warriors are unbeaten in four league matches and beat TTM 4-0 in the reverse fixture last month.
