Spurs confirm Mukumela departure
Cape Town Spurs would like to express our gratitude to Thendo Mukumela as he embarks on the next chapter in his career with AmaZulu.
The 24-year-old defender joined the Urban Warriors in August 2018 from Mamelodi Sundowns after failing to break into the first team set-up at Chloorkop.
Mukumela quickly went on to establish himself as a regular for Spurs, missing just one game in his debut campaign and contributing an impressive seven goals.
The Sundowns youth product featured 17 times for Shaun Bartlett’s side in the GladAfrica Championship this past season and departs Ikamva having made 100 appearances across all competitions, scoring 17 goals in the process.
Usuthu announced the signing of Mukumela on Thursday as one of 10 new arrivals at the Moses Mabhida Stadium and Spurs wish him well in his future endeavours.
“Thank you, Thendo Mukumela,” reads a post from the club on Twitter.
“After four years of fantastic service, Mukumela now joins AmaZulu in the next step of his career. We wish you all of the best, Urban Warrior!”
