Spurs earn a point against Hungry Lions
Cape Town Spurs and Hungry Lions shared the spoils in their latest Motsepe Foundation Championship tie, recording a 1-1 stalemate at the Windhoek Draught Park on Saturday afternoon.
Under the blistering Kimberly sun, no real chances were created during the first 45, however, the Urban Warriors came closest in creating goal scoring opportunities.
The Urban Warriors looked dangerous on the break and were flagged for offside on a couple of occasions during the second half. Spurs pressed the action as the game reached the hour mark, with their pressure paying off in the 57th minute.
With the referee spotting an infringement inside the Hungry Lions area, Spurs were thus awarded a penalty which was converted by Ashley Cupido.
The home team pulled one back in the 85th minute via the penalty spot as the game ended in a 1-1 draw in Kimberly.
