Spurs suffer shock defeat at home

In their latest Motsepe Foundation Championship tie, Cape Town Spurs suffered a rare defeat at home as Pretoria Callies claimed maximum points in a 2-1 victory at the Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The traveling outfit took the lead in the 22nd minute, as Oshwin Appolis got his name on the scoresheet early on.

Callies doubled their advantage soon after the half-time whistle, as Keorapetse Sebone came off the bench to make it 2-0 to the visitors. 

Therlo Moosa then pulled one back for Spurs in the 65th minute, with his headed effort finding the back of the net.

However, it was not to be as the Urban Warriors 10-match winning streak at home came to an end this weekend.
