Spurs suffer defeat on the road
With the Motsepe Foundation Championship resuming this week, Cape Town Spurs suffered a 2-0 defeat to JDR Stars at the Soshanguve Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It was an unhappy return for the Urban Warriors in their latest league fixture, with JDR Stars bagging maximum points at home.
The game got off to a slow pace in Pretoria with minimal goal scoring opportunities created throughout the first 45. Spurs managed to end the half on a high and carved out a couple of chances around the opposition penalty area.
However, JDR Stars took the lead in the 49th minute with Prince Nxumalo breaking the deadlock. The home team then doubled their advantage 15 minutes from time, as Ishmael Wadi joined Nxumalo on the score sheet.
