Bartlett: ‘We have to go toe-to-toe with Casric Stars
As Cape Town Spurs gear up to face Casric Stars in their next Motsepe Foundation Championship fixture, coach Shaun Bartlett has urged his side to go toe-to-toe with the log leaders.
The two sides are currently separated by three points at the top of the table, as the Urban Warriors continue their push for automatic promotion to the PSL.
After defeat in the most recent league outing, Bartlett mentioned that getting back to the basics will be crucial during the business end of the period while they look forward to challenging the table toppers at home.
“It’s the business end of the season, the final five games and our next game is against Casric who at the moment is top of the table,” Bartlett said.
“It’s a massive six pointer for us so we’ve got to put in a better performance than what we’ve done in the last couple of weeks in order to get results and restore what we had at home.
“We had a formidable home record until a couple of weeks ago so we have to get back to the drawing board and go back to the basics.
“We know it’s not going to be an easy game. They are obviously very confident. Probably the longest unbeaten run they’ve had throughout the championship to be honest.
‘We have to go toe-to-toe with them on Friday.”
