Bartlett reflects on Sekhukhune loss
In hosting Sekhukhune United at Athlone Stadium in the first home game of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season, coach Shaun Bartlett believes that his side gave a good account of themselves despite two costly errors.
Babina Noko bagged maximum points in a 2-0 victory over the Urban Warriors on Wednesday night, as the club returned to Athlone Stadium for the new league season.
Reflecting on the game, Bartlett mentioned that the Urban Warriors will have to learn from their mistakes, espcially at PSL level.
“For me, it was a bitter pill to swallow,” Bartlett said.
“I thought we did really well in segments of the game but then obviously two mistakes cost us.
“Our boys will have to learn quickly, you can’t make mistakes like that at this level and get away with it. Maybe last season was a different story but at this level you will get punished by a better team.
“I don’t think we had the worst performance, we created opportunities, but we could have done better.”
