Bartlett reflects on Swallows loss
Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett shared his thoughts on the Urban Warriors 3-1 defeat to Moroka Swallows in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday night.
Two goals from Tshegofatso Mabasa, including a single effort from Gabadinho Mhango saw the Dube Birds collect maximum points at home in the midweek clash, while Therlo Moosa grabbed a consolation effort midway through the first half.
Reflecting on the tie, Bartlett mentioned that mistakes in the critical stages of the game cost the Urban Warriors in the end.
“When you give three easy goals away, first two obviously in critical phases of the game, you are always going to be on the back foot,” Bartlett said.
“It’s something that we emphasized in the last few days, that we at least have to keep a clean sheet. If we want to have any chance of creating opportunities, it just didn’t happen.
“Two mistakes, in my opinion that was mistakes because we showed them what’s going to happen and we didn’t prevent it.”
