Urban Warriors take points off of Pirates
Cape Town Spurs fought back to grab a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening. The team once again showed a never say die attitude, grabbing a 76th minute equaliser to walk home with a point.
The Buccaneers scored early in the 12th minute through Relebohile Mofokeng, whose curling shot made it into the bottom corner of the net. The home team dominated possession in the first half and had more attempts on goal, but that did not discourage the Urban Warriors.
Gabriel Michael was the hero in the closing stages of the game, making the most of the opportunity he had to score. Once they levelled matters, the Urban Warriors did well to defend and grab a draw away from home.
The result is definitely a positive one as Cape Town Spurs continue their quest for survival in the league. Each point at this time is crucial for Ernst Middendorp’s charges.
