Spurs look forward to Cape showdown against Stellies

Cape Town Spurs will be looking to continue their good form in the DStv Premiership as they prepare for a Cape clash against Stellenbosch at the Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday evening. Kick off is at 17:30 CAT. 

The Urban Warriors have improved immensely in the league from an underwhelming start to the season, picking up two wins against AmaZulu and TS Galaxy respectively. The team also managed to take a point off of Orlando Pirates in the midweek fixtures.

Head coach Ernst Middendorp has expressed delight in the team’s ability to carve out good results as the battle to keep top-flight status continues. 

The players are also inspired by their current run of results and it has lifted the dressing room, according to goalkeeper Neil Boshoff.

“Right now, every point is crucial for us so as long as we keep showing up everyday and we just take each game one at a time, I think we’re in a good space at the moment,” he said.

Boshoff credits the team for coming together well as a group and says things are falling into place for them. He also noted that the team’s ability to work together from front to back has helped to keep from conceding goals.

“We know Stellenbosch is going to come hard at us but we’re focusing on one game at a time, we’re ready for the fight,” he said.
